Developing engaging safety campaigns that make a difference.

So much of a safety leader’s work is sharing crucial information — policies, procedures and guidance regarding key risks, potential hazards and ways to stay healthier on the job.

But how do we cut through the noise, particularly during times of upheaval, to connect with people in a way that leads to real and enduring change?

A remarkable safety experience is built or broken by good communication. Effective safety campaigns are essential touchpoints between the organisation and its people, ensuring everyone goes home safe and well at the end of each day.

In this 60-minute Safety Talk we’ll share how to:

• Develop a deeper understanding of how to connect with your people and teams.
• Use various human-centred communication techniques, including language, visuals, narratives, humour and emotions to connect with the frontline.
• Effectively combine various channels and mediums for greater impact.
• Develop memorable campaigns that spark discussion, deliver delight and lead to real and lasting behavioural change.
• Produce measurable results, including increased engagement in safety messaging and improvements to key safety metrics.
• Avoid habituation — ensuring communication captures people’s attention.

We’ll also share the practical application of these techniques through examples of recent work with some of our forward-thinking collaborators, including:

• Probuild’s HSE risk videos
• Nestlé’s 'Safe by Choice'
• Coca-Cola Amatil’s drug & alcohol policy
• And more...
